Announcing The WBLL

After six successful years of the Bluegrass Lacrosse League, L4 Lacrosse is excited to announce the launch of the Women’s Bluegrass Lacrosse League (WBLL) - a new fall lacrosse experience built specifically for girls.

Since its inception, the Bluegrass Lacrosse League has become a fall tradition for boys’ lacrosse players across Kentucky and the surrounding region. Each year, players from Louisville, Lexington, Southern Indiana, Ohio, and beyond come together to compete, develop their game, and build relationships with players they may normally only see from the opposite sideline.

Now, it’s time to create that same opportunity for girls.

Building a New Fall Tradition

The Women’s Bluegrass Lacrosse League was created to provide a competitive, developmental, and positive environment where girls can continue improving during the fall while competing alongside athletes from across the region.

The WBLL will feature a fast-paced Sixes format, creating a game that encourages constant involvement. With fewer players on the field and a quicker style of play, athletes get more touches, make more decisions, and have more opportunities to impact the game.

The result is an environment built around what matters most: playing, competing, and developing.

Growing the Game in Kentucky

At L4 Lacrosse, our goal has always been bigger than simply running another league or event. We want to grow the sport of lacrosse in Kentucky and create more opportunities for athletes to play the game.

Over the past six years, the Bluegrass Lacrosse League has grown into something players, families, and coaches look forward to every fall. Players from different schools and programs become teammates, compete against new opponents, and get another opportunity to play the game they love.

We’re excited to begin building that same tradition with the WBLL.

Whether a player is experienced or still developing her game, we want the WBLL to be a place where athletes can develop, compete, build confidence, and enjoy lacrosse.

The Next Chapter

Girls’ lacrosse continues to grow throughout Kentucky and the surrounding states, and we believe creating more opportunities to play is an important part of continuing that momentum.

Our hope is that the Women’s Bluegrass Lacrosse League becomes a cornerstone of that growth, bringing players and programs together, strengthening the local lacrosse community, and helping elevate the women’s game for years to come.

Six years ago, the Bluegrass Lacrosse League started with the goal of creating something special for the boys’ lacrosse community.

Now, we’re ready to build something special for the girls.

We can’t wait to welcome our first group of WBLL athletes and begin building what we hope will become a new fall tradition in Kentucky lacrosse!
